Continuing Education

Attendees of BCATS may earn valuable continuing education (CE) credits by participating in podium and poster presentations. The Stanford Hospital and Clinics Center for Education is accredited by the California Board of Registered Nursing CEP12165 to sponsor continuing education for nurses. The Center for Education designates this continuing education activity for up to 5.5 hours. Each nurse should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spends in the educational activity. Evaluations for CE will be sent out electronically after Oct. 16th, 2004. The deadline for submitting the evaluations will be Nov. 1st, 2004.
BCATS objectives are:

  • To demonstrate and discuss issues related to the development, application, and evaluation of information technologies in biomedicine and health care.
  • To provide presentations that detail work, progress, and challenges in frontier biomedical computational research.
  • To improve the knowledge and skill of attendees with respect to using, developing, and managing information technologies as they relate to biomedicine and health care.
  • To present research methodologies and results in the broad field of biomedical computation.
  • To promote information exchange among attendees.
